At the start of Queensrÿche's song, Empire, from the album of the same name, there is a playing of a telephone answering machine message with the audio:

"Sorry, I'm just...it started to hit me like a, um, -tch-, um, two ton...heavy thing..."

I imagine that this song being about the rampant street drug industry, that this might be some infamous character who delivered this at a press conference when shamed about his involvement in illicit drugs.

Does anyone know who delivered this line? Or is it entirely a fabrication of the band?

The sample before Empire is a voicemail from former Queensryche touring keyboardist Randy Gane to, presumably, Geoff Tate.
