I am aware that rhythm and accompaniments on home keyboards typically exist to make playing at home less lonely/more fun. However, I doubt that no recording artist, perhaps even a professional artist, has never tried it in the name of experimentation. Has such a thing been done before?

I guess it's more likely that rhythms (pre-programmed drum machines) have been used rather than whole accompaniments (automatic harmonic and bass accompaniment + rhythm), so please prioritize accompaniments, since they may be rarer.

The question is poorly defined. What is a 'recording artist' in an age when everybody can produce recordings with a computer or even a smartphone? – PiedPiper Jun 5 '20 at 11:26
