I'm looking for a song released in 1997 or 1998.
It was a group with young female voices.
In the chorus they said the word "anyway" or "anywhere" or "everywhere".

It's not Shakira (whenever, whatever) and not Fleetwood Mac (Everywhere).

The speed was slow, and the style was melodic (like the Cranberries but more slow), listen on italian fm radio Another remind: the chorus is not one female voice, but probably two or more female voices

  • Any other memories you have would be helpful. Speed, style, other instruments, ...

Here's a long shot: Summerlong by Emm Gryner.

Released in 1998, it was on the radio a lot that summer in Canada.
Female voice, but solo act not a group.
Speed isn't terribly slow but it is melodic.

Chorus contains "Summerlong" which has the syllable structure as the potentially remembered words.

Emm Gryner hasn't reached super-popularity although she's not a one-hit wonder either. This explains not hearing it on the radio since 1998; Canadian radio doesn't play her songs very often.

OP said Italian, Emm Gryner is Canadian, but sometimes our artists have more success overseas that we don't hear about. (Yes, sometimes they are Big in Japan.)

  • is not this, thanks for answer

Best guesses...

The Story, "Grace in Gravity" (Cranberries-ish)
Celine Dion, "My Heart Will Go On" ("Wherever" + #1 in Italy, 28 Feb - 14 Mar 1998)

There are lists of the Italian weekly top 20 here (hitparadeitalia.it).

You also could look through the "map" of "if you like the Cranberries, you might also like...", which can be found here (music-map.com). Maybe one of the names rings a bell.
