In the song Human by The Killers, the vocalist says:

Are we human?
Or are we dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answer
Are we human?
Or are we dancer?
Will your system be alright
When you dream of home tonight?
There is no message we're receiving
Let me know is your heart still beating?
Are we human?
Or are we dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answer
You got to let me know
Are we human?
Or are we dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answer
Are we human?
Or are we dancer?
Are we human?
Or are we dancer?
Are we human
Or are we dancer?

Now my question why does the lyricist juxtapose human to dancer? Is it because animal like peacock, Flamingo, birds and some animals can dance? So is he or she comparing animal to human? Or is it because even when dancer is human they dance with the rhythm of a melody and when song is done they are morbid still like a dormant account? Is that the reason why the band The Killers compare human to dancer?
