  • It looks like an electric bouzouki to me. Here's a video of a 3 Mustaphas 3 live peformance (jumped to the point where the camera focuses on the band member is about to play a bazouki and sing) youtu.be/S2T3jWcsEOU?t=293 – cnamejj Apr 12 at 4:21
  • @cnamejj, I think this is exactly the same one! – Thomas Apr 12 at 21:41

@cnamejj, it turns out the same performer has been playing in both bands – Thomas Apr 22 at 0:19
  • Wow! That's quite a coincidence... I've seen 3 Mustaphas 3 live and they were outstanding. And they were on a London based label which promoted "world music". In fact members of the band were the owners/founders of the label. So I'm not entirely surprised to hear the musicians are well known. That might be how John Lydon came to know the guy playing bouzouki? – cnamejj Apr 22 at 1:05

@cnamejj That's very possible, that guy (Lu Edmonds) was one of the founding members of the 3 Mustaphas which according to wiki was in 82 and he started to play with PIL in 87. – Thomas Apr 22 at 13:17

In the interest of not leaving resolved questions in a unanswered state, I'm posting one of the comments I made above.
