There is this song that I've seen only once in the 90's and I can't remember the group / singer or name of it.

As far as I remember, the music video is a cartoon of a boy running away from something and, by the end, he sits on top of a light pole. Helicopters fly around him while sitting up there.

I'm 100% sure that is not Gorillaz!

Can you help me identify it?

It could be Paranoid Android by Radiohead.

The guy (cartoon) from the video sits on a light pole and an one helicopter flies around, and eventually rescues him, but it's not exactly at the end. Your memory may be tricking you.

Is it possibly Weird Al Yankovich's anti-piracy "message song" parody Don't Download This Song?

The video is hand-drawn animation by George Plimpton and follows the adventures of a young boy who is pursued by the police after illegally downloading music. Near the end, he ascends to the top of a water tower.

No helicopters though --that part sounds like a King Kong parody, so if this isn't it, you might try that as part of your search.

  • Unfortunately no... :( Nice movie though and amazing lyrics! I didn't expect a Weird Al music video so well done! – Rafa Borges Nov 16 '15 at 16:31
