5 or 6 years ago my boss asked me if I knew of a country/western song sung by a man who described a lover who broke his heart and took his dog.

I did not know of it (she thought I might only because I'm from the South East).

My girlfriend broke my heart and stole my dog when she left. I feel a need to find this song. I've been unsuccessful in trying to find it by using search engines.

Does anyone know what this song might have been?

It's definitely not in the "Top 10 Country Songs for Dog Lovers".

I cannot recall the name of it, but legend has it that if you spin the vinyl record in the reverse direction on the turntable, playing the song backwards, then the dog comes back. – user546 Nov 27 '15 at 1:57
  • @WheatWilliams Haha, yea I found a comment to that effect while searching for this. ;) I think I may have found the song, but this one lacks the broken heartedness with respect to the woman. The man basically hates the woman and just wants the dog back in the one I found. – Hack-R Nov 28 '15 at 1:50

There's a character Sven Bianchi, in web comic "Questionable Content", who wrote a song with the title "You Stole My Heart, You Stole My Dog, But You Ain't Gonna Steal My Chevy" questionablecontent.wikia.com/wiki/Sven_Bianchi – Angst Apr 5 '16 at 19:50
  • When I found this question I was searching for "Tim McGraw - Do You Want Fries With That" – Dan Bechard Jul 25 '18 at 2:52
