I'm trying to find a specific song similar to this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8hT3oDDf6c.

I thought about this song from the opening guitar riff, but haven't been able to retrieve it from my mind. It's very frustrating! Any ideas of similar songs when you listen to the opening guitar riff? It would probably be a melancholic song, starting with a guitar as well, and with a slower tempo but very similar (at least to me).

I really don't understand the reason for down-voting this question. Where should somebody ask this question? Maybe it miss the "identify-song" tag, but this is the only inadequate thing here.

I didn't downvote, but the problem is it's basically a "read my mind" question. The identifying details could match hundreds of songs. Also, the way it was originally written, it was ambiguous as to whether it was asking for recommendations or seeking one specific song (I have edited to address that concern). Mar 7, 2016 at 15:40

"read-my-mind" questions: bad. I'll let it mellow a bit in the hopes that our user gets an answer, but in general the concept of the site is to be a one-stop answer site for indexable questions. "read-my-mind" questions generally have little to no use for anyone beside the OP.

The introduction of Down In a Hole is a little a similar to the chord progressions of Cowgirl in the Sand by Neil Young and Horse With No Name by America. The high, held and wordless backing vocal is a little like that of the intro to Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones.

"More Than a Feeling" by Boston has a similar chord progression in the verse.

I've always had a mental association with that song and the outro to the Meat Puppets' song Plateau that Nirvana played at their unplugged set
