There's a very specific vocal sample in Body Rock by Andy C and Shimon on RAM Records. It appears at 12 seconds. Strangely, though not when you consider they have a DJ, Incubus use the same vocal phrase in 11am, also at 12 seconds.

Is that a coincedence? The RAM Records site doesn't seem to list samples.

  • It sounds like the kind of thing that could be from a sample library. Also, maybe it's just late, but it sounds like a string instrument rather than a vocal to me? – user16 Jun 8 '16 at 22:14
  • Oh, interesting I hadn't thought stringed instrument, but yes now you mention it, possibly because of the Incubus version. Sample library is possible, I hadn't thought of that. The Incubus one is sung by the lead singer, judging by the tone of the voice and since both came out in the same year it's very possible that Brandon Boyd was a fan of the song etc. – ja_him Jun 9 '16 at 8:53
  • You know, I say that but listening to it again it sounds nothing like Brandon Boyd! The pliability of memory, hey! – ja_him Jun 9 '16 at 10:20
