In several songs, like 'Kaze no Uta' or 'Konpaku no Elegy', a beautiful instrument is used. In Kaze no Uta, on 0:12 and onwards. In Konpaku no Elegy, on 0:19 and onwards.

Can anyone identify the instrument?

  • Sounds like just an ordinary tambourine. – George Law Aug 5 '16 at 9:25
  • @GeorgeLaw Really? Doesn't seem like it. – AnimeHunterFai Aug 5 '16 at 9:47
  • Yep - tambourine by the sound of it. – Rory Alsop Aug 5 '16 at 16:28
  • Difficult to know for sure, as it is surely sampled and heavily treated (a lot of reverb, at least, probably re-pitched and who knows what more). It could be any number of sources, I agree a tambourine is a good candidate, but my bet would be some sort of jingle bells, either of European or Asian tradition. – José David Aug 5 '16 at 21:51

I am in agreement with the other commenters that this sounds like a tambourine. I will note that the sound has been treated, because I can also hear an extra reverb as pointed out by @JoséDavid. But I will go with the tambourine as the most likely candidate.
