In several songs, like 'Kaze no Uta' or 'Konpaku no Elegy', a beautiful instrument is used. In Kaze no Uta, on 0:12 and onwards. In Konpaku no Elegy, on 0:19 and onwards.

Can anyone identify the instrument?

  • Sounds like just an ordinary tambourine.

  • @GeorgeLaw Really? Doesn't seem like it. Aug 5 '16 at 9:47
  • Yep - tambourine by the sound of it.

  • Difficult to know for sure, as it is surely sampled and heavily treated (a lot of reverb, at least, probably re-pitched and who knows what more). It could be any number of sources, I agree a tambourine is a good candidate, but my bet would be some sort of jingle bells, either of European or Asian tradition. Aug 5 '16 at 21:51
