I'm looking for a piece of choral music that I once stumbled upon on Youtube, but for the life of me can't find again. It was

  • for unaccompanied mixed chorus

  • might or might not have been by Jaakko Mäntyjärvi

  • starts with a 3-5 note sound effect imitating a the classic American train whistle - presumably realized via complicated dissonant parallel clusters or mixtures, certainly eerily accurate.

Anyone here who has performed that piece, or remembers the recording?

  • So, a little context, for those not familiar with American train whistles: the most typical appear to be a major 6th or diminished 7th chord according to this reddit post. Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, according to this 2013 thesis has written about 100 mixed-voice choral works. The thesis analyses many of these in detail, but also states that many other works were omitted - not conclusive either way. – Angst Jun 3 '17 at 21:20
