My parents had an LP record that they played often and we all loved, but none of us can remember its name now.

1) It was instrumental

2) The cover had an octopus drumming

3) The title was "Dr. something's something band." (Where "something" is of course a placeholder).

4) This was around 1972-1975. We then moved to another country and I never heard that record again.

5) It was bought in India, but it definitely had a Western aspect to it (American or British), I mean the cover art, style of music, etc. I doubt very much it was produced in India.

I find it hard to describe the style of music but it was sort of like an upbeat Muzak with a pop/rock flavor. Easy listening but more peppy. Thanks!

Which country was this record bought in? Perhaps you can put that in your question. – Phillip Siebold Sep 11 '17 at 18:25
  • The date isn't right, but maybe you are thinking of Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem. – Yorik Sep 21 '17 at 19:25
  • Yorik, No, but the front cover showed a cartoon-like band in the same configuration with the Octopus where Animal is. Thank you. – royappa Oct 4 '17 at 18:26

Probably not the right answer, but this was produced in 1972 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octopus_(Gentle_Giant_album)

Youtube link. Here's some album covers of compilations, bootlegs, etc of the same band. http://www.blazemonger.com/GG/Gentle_Giant_discography
