Once upon a time in America there was a show called "Headbangers Ball" on a TV station that now disappoints too much to be mentioned.

And this show had an intro or interlude composed of short clips of different heavy metal songs. I look for a particular song that was featured in this intro/interlude. It was shown for about 2-3 seconds and my memory is very vague but I will do my best to describe it.

The scene is in black and white, there is tall tree without leaves, Just eerie branches. There is a sound of a electric guitar (riff) and a few words. Perhaps, and I stress perhaps, the lyrics goes "my kind of lovin...".

Sorry this is all I can remember, if anything comes up I will add it. So are there any bells ringing?

EDIT

After a dig through the 80's Grounge music this clip from a song Crown of Thornes by Mother Love Bone sounds "familiar". Can somebody confirm that this was used in MTV Headbangers ball intro, or similar show.

These interludes had various videos (explosions, blasts, car crashes...) but I don't see trees and branches... could you send us a link to this interlude ? Youtube has several Headbangers Balls videos. – Bebs Sep 22 '17 at 9:11
  • @Bebs I know. Sorry I cant give you the link because I do not have it. I search for this same clip also. I know it would be much easier to make any progress. Now I have doubts it was a clup exclusive to Headbanger's ball. Perhaps it was some MTV interlude related to heavy metal music. MTV at that time had plenty of such short clips. But at the time, this clip was shown often. – o115208 Sep 25 '17 at 6:15
  • The song used from Megadeth was "Wake Up Dead" – The Ripper Jun 8 '18 at 3:17

It would definitely help if you named not only the channel but which country you were watching it in and the rough time period. – tripleee Jun 8 '18 at 4:19

The only one I can instantly remember was Megadeth's "Peace Sells But Who's Buying"! They used the bass riff at the start of the track. I doubt this was what you're after, although I will search the memory banks...

  • Thanky you. I have listened through this track, but it is not what I am looking for. – o115208 Nov 6 '17 at 10:27

There's some references to Prong getting attention on HBB in the [wiki article](en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prong_(band) - you could maybe fill out your answer with some of that – Angst May 21 at 19:15

I remember SOD (StormTroopers of Death) was used in a lot of those short interludes. "March of the SOD" if I remember correctly.
