I need to identify the song with that phrase:

Waka waka wee

I don't remember where I heard it. Thanks for any help.

This song is Waka Waka (This time for Africa) from Shakira, who is a Colombian artist.

(From @Bebs): Shakira's song was inspired by the Cameroonian band Golden Sound's song Zamina mina (Zangalewa) in 1986. This song also has the lyrics "waka waka hey hey."

OP found his answer, but it reminded me that Shakira's song was inspired by the Cameroonian band Golden Sound's song Zamina mina (Zangalewa) in 1986.

This song also has the lyrics

Waka waka hey hey

  • I don't know @ChrisSunami... since none of the other users seem to care about writing a good answer. It also could be a correct possible answer since it's a different song and fits the question. – Bebs May 17 '18 at 14:12
  • @ChrisSunami, about ID questions, it was said in various discussions, that it could have different posts for different answers (by the same user sometimes) since the answer is different. – Bebs May 17 '18 at 14:25
  • Thanks for editing, I reversed my vote. Please don't get discouraged. Whatever else happens with this SE, we are both working to make sure questions and answers are as good as they can be. :) – Chris Sunami supports Monica May 17 '18 at 15:17
  • This is exactly what I'm talking about in (this)[musicfans.meta.stackexchange.com/a/423/7]. We cannot have these questions both ways where we are either trying to find the song the OP is thinking of or find any song that fits the description. We have to either do one or the other, not both because it shows conflicting positive answers that can't all be correct (if we are trying actually find something for the OP). It's still also not an answer to the question in its current form. – Dom May 17 '18 at 17:02
  • @Dom You've convinced me that in this case, my initial instinct (that this is better as an extension to another answer) is correct. Bebs, I've edited your contribution into the other answer, with credit, towards the goal of a single, definitive answer that gives maximum information. I also added the link the OP provided into that answer as well. However, I'm not convinced multiple plausible answers is necessarily a fatal problem for an ID question. Maybe we can open a new meta discussion specifically on that topic – Chris Sunami supports Monica May 18 '18 at 17:25

if you can find and add a clip, that will make this a better answer – Angst Jun 11 '19 at 21:11
