I got this old Höfner guitar from someone who got it as a heritage. Since they don’t play the guitar it was just sitting in their attic for quite some time. A few days ago they passed it on to me. I’ve done some research and I think it’s possibly a Höfner 456/s from 1967 or 1968 with a pickup that has been placed on it afterwards (the pickup has Hopf-Spezial written on it). Since i don’t know much about guitars, I came here for help. After some tuning it sounds pretty nice, but it obviously needs new strings. I also think that the fretboard is bend due to the long lasting tension from the strings (as seen in the picture). Would anyone be able to provide more information on this guitar, or know what it would be worth? Would it be possible and sensible to repair the bend fretboard? What would it cost to repair it? Thanks in advance!
