At the start of Blondie's "Atomic" a guitar riff starts. I feel like I've heard the same riff (or very slightly altered) before in some other song, but I can't remember which one. I am not talking about covers of the same song. I feel like the song I am looking for is more recent than Atomic.


Maybe Urge Overkill's cover of Girl You'll Be a Woman Soon?

Just after he says "Girl", you'll have a similar but slower riff, with the same kind of guitar effects.

The song Atomic was released in 1979, and Urge Overkill's Girl You'll Be a Woman Soon in 1994. Unofficial sources suggest that Atomic riff is inspired by Neil Diamond original Girl You'll Be a Woman Soon in 1967.


That riff, or something close to it is sampled right in the middle of the version of "Back to Black" by Beyoncé and Andre 3000 from the Great Gatsby soundtrack:
