I've been wondering for a while about what could 0.0770833333333333 mean? It's a song by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, from Beat The Devil's Tattoo album. What I figured out so far is that 0.0770833333333333 = 37/480 assuming that it's actually 0.07708(3). I tried to gather any info about which ways the numbers could relate to anything but didn't find nothing.
Maybe someone has some thought on this?
This track is one of the two bonus tracks from Beat the Devil’s Tattoo. As seen on the reverse side of the album cover on this UK & Europe version, the title is actually supposed to be “1:51”:
Listening to a recording of the track, and reading the (rather miserable) lyrics hasn’t given much of clue as to what the title is supposed to mean though. It kinda looks like a time of some sort, and this line in the lyrics also alludes to time being significant:
The light is slipping away
But even if this is right, it could mean either a time of day or a duration of time;
Presumably, somewhere along the line, a piece of software has misidentified the track name as a number to process. And for whatever reason, it’s converted it from hours & minutes to days:
1:51 = 1 hour + 51 minutes
= 60 minutes + 51 minute
= 111 minutes ÷ (60 minutes/hour × 24 hours/day)
= 111 minutes ÷ 1440 minutes/day
= (37 ÷ 480) days
= 0.07708333… days
